THIS SATURDAY, KHATSAHLANO STREET PARTY TAKES OVER WEST 4TH AVENUE!
Brought to you with love by the Merchants of West 4th Avenue, Khatsahlano Street Party returns on Saturday, July 9th, between Burrard and Macdonald from 11 AM-9 PM.
It’s a one-day, ten-block festival, along West 4th Avenue from Burrard to Macdonald, with tons of live local music, Phillips Beer Gardens, vendors, KHATS KIDS family activities, shopping and plenty of fun. There is something for everyone to check out!
Zulu Records, a West 4th Community Staple, has curated the perfect playlist for the day, filled with something for everyone! Haley Blais will floor you with her storytelling lyrics and captivating voice on the Burrard Stage, presented by TD & Curiocity. Bringing their destruction and melody, acid wit and bruising vocals, The PackAD returns to the stage after playing the 2013 festival.
Vancouver’s post-punk outfit, ACTORS will rock out on the MacDonald Stage, brought to you by Third.Space and DailyHive. Lucky for us Kim Churchill is stationed out West, bringing Australian Folk Rock to our stage, with explosive intricate fingerpicking, percussive beats mixed with harmonica melodies and soulful voice.

HOST NATIONS PAVILION
The Museum of Vancouver has partnered with the festival to create a Host Nations Pavilion at Vine Street, with Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations. Showcasing the talents of local indigenous artists, there will be Cedar-Bark bracelet-making classes with Rita Kompst, live carving with Jonas Jones, and an indigenous marketplace. Guests will also have an opportunity to bring pieces of art to life with Paintillio; an oversized paint by numbers using beautiful artwork created by Chase Gray
CELEBRATION STATIONS
New this year, we are #makingupformissingout with Celebration Selfie Stations at Cypress and Vine! Grab a prop, and strike a pose in front of our Birthday Station, thanks to TD Bank, and our Graduation Station and appreciate that we can celebrate together. Post your photo and tag #makingupformissingout for a chance to win gift cards from West 4th Ave Businesses.
LOVE AT KHATS
Festival Weddings? YES PLEASE. Eight lucky couples have been selected to say “I do” in the middle of our street party! Leis De Buds is providing the florals and stunning setting! Coordination and planning by Pop up Weddings, beautiful photos by Tyshawnna Reann Photography, and officiant provided by Young Hip and Married to make it official. We can’t wait to share the story of Love at Khats! When the weddings aren’t happening, take your photo in front of the floral wall and make sure to post #makingupformissingout.
DID SOMEONE SAY PIE?
West 4th’s hottest dessert spot is The Pie Hole and this year are stepping up the Pie Eating Contests! On the Khats Kids Stage at Trafalgar, The Pie Hole is hosting the Kids Competition at 4 PM, so be there or be square. If you are an adult pie lover, there will be contests outside their storefront all day long as well, so we will meet you at The Pie Hole!
KIDS YOGA
Kitsilano and Yoga are a match made in heaven. Even the little ones love it! Yoga Buttons will be hosting Kids Yoga at 11 AM on the Trafalgar Stage, so bring your kids and get stretched and ready for a day of activity!
ON YOUR MARKS, GET SET, GO
Covering 10 city blocks should meet your step quota, but if you’re looking to go above and beyond stop by the Gold’s Gym Obstacle Course at Larch Street and test your speed and agility. Schedule coming soon for professional heats, but this is also open to the public looking to test your limits!
