Overall cleanliness (good indication as to how well it has been taken care of)
Stove
- do all the burners work
- tight seal around oven door does it open / close properly
Fridge
- does it feel warm inside
- can the door open / close properly?
- is the door opening in the right direction….is it awkward to move around?
- any leaks, stains, or smells?
Dishwasher
- tight seal, open / close properly
- any leaks, stains, or smells?
- Does it run…ask if you may start an express cycle? Listen for the water to run.
Sink / Faucet
- is it dripping
- turn on the taps and run the hot and cold, is it flowing down the drain?
- Under the sink look for any standing water or stains
Bathroom
Overall Cleanliness
Sink / Faucet (same as kitchen)
Shower
- leaks, stains, smells
- cracked tiles and grout?
Toilet
- any condensation
- flushes properly?
Whole Space
Overall cleanliness
Windows
- condensation, mold, good seal
- condition of any window coverings
Floors
- any major stains, why is it there?
Rooms
- feel free to take measurements (will your bed fit between those two windows?)
- fans, does it work / make a lot of noise?
