Embrace the spookiness of the season and join the Burnaby community for a family-friendly Halloween extravaganza at Central Park! Burnaby proudly introduces its newest signature event – Central Spark!
Come along Patterson Avenue (from Kingsway to Central Boulevard) and Central Park (corner of Kingsway and Patterson Ave). The festivities kick off at 6:30 pm and culminate with a spectacular fireworks show in Central Park at 8:15 pm, concluding around 8:30 pm.
This event offers free fun for all ages, featuring a spooky outdoor maze, roaming entertainers, carnival games, engaging art activities, a photo booth, delectable offerings from food trucks, and an awe-inspiring fireworks display – all set within the heart of Central Park.
Don’t forget to dress up in your favorite costumes – the more creativity, the better!

Pumpkin Parade

Extend the life of your Halloween jack-o’-lantern and bring it to the park for all to enjoy. Place it along the walking path in front of Eileen Dailly to be part of the pumpkin parade. Lights for your carved pumpkin will be provided.
The waste management team will compost the pumpkins after the event.
This event is open to all and will proceed regardless of the weather.

“In Praise of Nightmares” presents a night of 1920s classic horror cinema, featuring two silent short films paired with live music that heightens every spine-tingling moment.
Let your imagination journey through the twisted dreams and haunting visuals in “Un Chien Andalou” (1929), a French avant-garde surrealist film created by Louis Brunelle and the renowned artist Salvador Dali.
Witness the legendary vampire Count Orlok come to life on the screen in “Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror” (1922). This German expressionist film, directed by F. W. Murnau, portrays the bloody reign of terror in Transylvania.
